Valentine’s Day is the time for Love, gifts and chocolate, that’s right, chocolate, lots and lots of chocolate… I do love that you can get chocolate any time of the year, but when it is Valentine’s Day I think that it tastes better, means more and there is so much more of it everywhere.
You can give chocolate as a gift like these chocolate covered strawberries, or get a little creative and dip some sandwich cookies in chocolate and add sprinkles, or you can really get creative and make the chocolate brownie dessert jars.
Another great Valentine’s Day gift idea is to give a cute Tic Tac Toe game, it’s quick and easy to make. Or show everyone some love with the LOVE door or wall hanger. You can create either one of these for under $5.
The easiest gift idea is the Candy Bar wrappers, these are perfect for those school Valentine’s Day giveaways.
Chocolate Covered Treats
Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
Wilton dark cocoa candy melts
Wilton Melting Pot (or microwave)
Wilton candy sprinkles and edible glitter
Pretty Valentines doilies or tray
Melt the candy melts in the melting pot or microwave. Wash and dry the strawberries completely. Dip the cookies into the chocolate, I didn’t cover them completely, just the tips. Place the chocolate dipped cookies onto the parchment paper and sprinkle the edible glitter on them or add some sprinkles. For the strawberries, do the same thing, dip the tips of the strawberries into melted candy melts and place them on the parchment paper and add sprinkles. Let he chocolate cool and place them in a cute package to give as a gift or place them on a Valentine tray and share them with your loved ones and friends.
Valentines Tic Tac Toe
Paper Mache cardboard box with lid
Small wooden hearts
Americana pain (red, pink, white)
Americana Paint Marker (white)
Thin Valentine’s ribbon
Paint the outside of the box and lid with the red paint, you may need 2 coats of paint, so be sure to let each coat of paint dry for 10-20 minutes before you add the second coat. Using the glue dot roller, place the ribbon on the outside of the lid. Draw lines on top of the box lid in the shape of a tic tac toe board using the paint marker. Paint the hearts with the red paint, let them dry and add heart stickers that are the same size to the top of the hearts.
Love Wall Hanger
Flat wooden squares
Americana Paint (red)
Americana Paint Marker (white)
Hot glue gun
3” Valentine decorative ribbon, wired
Paint both sides of the wood squares with the red paint, I put 2 coats of paint on them, letting each coat dry for 10-20 minutes between coats. Write the letters L O V E on top of the wood squares using the white paint marker. Glue the squares in a line on top of the wired ribbon, be sure to make a loop at the top of the ribbon so you can hang it. Add a bow to the bottom of the wall hanging.
Candy Bar Wrappers
Valentine decorated scrapbook paper
Glue dots (I used the glue dot roller)
Cut the scrapbook paper to the size of the candy bar so that you can wrap the paper around the whole candy bar. Adhere the paper to the candy bar using the glue dot roller. Add stickers or pictures from the scrapbook paper for an added touch.
