Wow, can you believe another New Year is upon us, weren't we just talking about Thanksgiving and BAM, it's the New Year. I am happy for a new year because to me, the new year brings new opportunities, new memories to be made, and more time to spend with friends and a chance to try new things.
I think that is my New Years resolution, to spend time with friends, try new things and have as much fun as I can. 2016 kind of took us all for a loop and I am ready for 2017 to get started and be great.
If you are going to plan a New Years Eve Party you don't have to break the bank, you can create some beautiful decor by reusing a lot of the leftover Christmas decor that you already have. Check out the ideas below and as always, remember to get creative and have fun.
2017 Table Decor
Americana acrylic paint in gold, black, and white
Americana Decou Page
4 Ball Jars
Glitter in gold and black
Gold or silver placemats
Gold or silver tissue paper
Leftover Christmas bags, anything gold, silver, white
Wooden Numbers 2017
Christmas Floral in gold, white and black (anything with glitter is great)
For the decorative jars, paint 2 of the ball jars black and 2 of them gold, you may need 2-3 coats of paint, but be sure to let it dry at least 20 minutes in between each coat of paint. Next, paint the top ring of the jar with decou page and cover it with glitter, I did black glitter on the black ball jar and gold glitter on the gold jar. Let it all dry overnight, then fill with floral and decorative straws.
For the 2017 numbers, I painted them with Americana Gold glitter paint, I painted 2 coats on each letter, letting each coat dry for 20 minutes before painting the next coat. Let them dry overnight and enjoy decorating with them.
To set the scene, just have fun, place the place mat down and start filling the table with all of the leftover glittered decor.

Glitter - black & gold
I used sunglasses, a campaign glass, and a campaign bottle and traced them onto poster board to create my templates. I also freehand drew a bow tie, mustache and lips onto poster board and then cut all of the items out. I painted them all black but left certain areas empty so that I could paint those areas gold. I painted the empty areas with a good layer of decou page and poured gold glitter over those areas. Let them dry overnight and then hot glue a dowel rod to the back of the item.
