It’s race day, and time for another great race day party. I love creating all the yummy food and fun for my family and friends every weekend but sometimes getting ready for the party is hard, my hands just don’t work as great as they use to, especially when I need to decorate that cake, so I take a couple Advil® Film-Coated tablets and I am ready to get the race day party started. From the food to the fun, I want to make sure all my guests have a great time.
Everyone that knows me knows that I have been a racing fan ever since I was little, I would go to the track with my dad every weekend and I just loved when the new drivers would come on the track with such excitement and all of them were ready to get that win. Something fun and new that I have added to my parties is a Race Day trivia game. I love to get everyone involved and I love when my guests get competitive, I think that is the best part of racing, the competition.
Ty Dillon is becoming one of my favorite drivers this year, and rooting for the new guys on the track is one of the great things about racing, there are always new drivers to root for. There are also great reasons to use fast acting Advil® Film-Coated tablets, like headaches, muscle aches, toothaches, and so much more. This Advil is formulated with a unique Advil Ion Core Technology and an ultra thin shell to absorb quickly – in fact nothing is proven to work faster** among OTC pain relievers.
How to Set the Table
Black Table Cloth
White Card Stock
Green, Red & Yellow Plates
Red Cups or Clear Glasses
Printer or Use of a Printer
Scissors or Paper Cutter
Red, Yellow & Green Flags Made out of Card Stock
Whatever size your table is, be sure that the table cloth covers at least the top of it. Next, cut the white card stock into strips to be used for the center stripe to make the table look like a race track. You can adhere the strips to the table cloth with a few glue dots. To decorate the top of the table, place the plates on one side of the table to look like a stop light, red on top, then yellow, then green on the bottom. Print 5 signs using a document program to create them for the treats, SPARE TIRES, FUEL UP, DIP STICKS, PIT STOP FLAGS and NUTS & BOLTS. Then start adding your treats, place 5 good sized bowls or plates in the middle of the table and either glue the signs using glue dots to the bowls/plates or make tent signs using card stock to print the signs on and place them in front of the bowls/plates. You can also add napkins and put a sign that says FINAL LAP FLAGS to finish off the décor.
Now For The Muchies
Salty Snack Mix – see recipe below
Pit Stop Cheese Snack – see recipe below
White Card Stock
These snacks can be store bought, and for the salty snack mix, you can buy a pre-mixed one like Chex Mix, or make your own. I like to make my own so that I can be sure to put my favorite snacks in it, I use bugles, muddy buddy Chex mix, M&M’s, Corn Nuts, cinnamon nuts, lots of salty and sweet, but be sure to add what you like the most. To create the pit stop cheese snack, print checkered flag pattern onto card stock, you can find a checkered flag pattern for free online. Using glue dots, glue the flag onto the top of the toothpick and stick the toothpick through a tomato and then a square of your favorite cheese. You can add a yummy dip or some balsamic vinegar.
Race Day Fun & Games
Red, Yellow & Green Paint
3 Soft Balls (I Used Pet Toys)
Paper Party Bags (White or Black)
Red, Yellow & Green Card Stock
Note pads or white card stock
Marble Race Track – Cut the pool noodle in half-length wise, so that the middle hole looks like a half moon. Place both halves of the pool noodle on top of a box so that the marbles will roll down to the ground. This is your race track, it’s a lot of fun to guess which one will win, it’s different ever time.
Stop Light Toss Game – cut one side of the flaps of the box off completely. You can paint the whole box black or leave it the card board color. Cut 3 holes in one side of the box, one on top of the other to look like a stop light. Then paint the outside of the top hole red, middle hole yellow and bottom hole green. Let dry and then have fun tossing the soft balls into the holes.
Race Day Trivia – if you don’t know a lot of racing trivia, you can find it online. You can print the questions onto card stock and add lines for the answers, or just read them off to your guests and have them right the answers on notepads.
Always give your guests a fun parting gift, I took some inexpensive party bags and cut out red, yellow and green circles and used glue dots to glue the circles to the bags to make them look like stop lights, you could also add colored tissue paper.
