My best friend moved to Richmond, Virginia, about a year ago and I couldn’t wait to start visiting her during my travels. I have always wanted to go to Virginia, but now not only do I get to see all the American History and beautiful beaches that I had read about, but I have my own personal tour guide through my best friend. And I can spend more money on the visit because I am saving with the great deals I am getting through Hipmunk Hotels.
The first thing that caught my eye about the Linden Row Inn was the beautiful patio outside, I couldn’t wait to sit out there with a cup of coffee and enjoy the historical surroundings of Richmond Virginia. There is so much to see in this historic town, there are at least 11 different museums and so many restaurants to try. I also love that the Linden Row Inn helps you get your day started with a free continental breakfast, and if you like to get your work out on before you hit the sites, they also offer complimentary YMCA privileges.
When I travel with my little pup Molly, I love to stay at the Omni Richmond Hotel. They are pet friendly, and I really feel like I am staying in luxury when I am there. Located in downtown Richmond, it’s only a short drive to the TV station for my show, and then back to the beautiful luxurious rooms and wonderful on-site restaurant called Trevi’s Grille. The other great thing about staying downtown is all of the beautiful sites to see and take photos of, like the Flood Wall under the Manchester Bridge.
Visiting Virginia Beach Is a Must When Traveling East
One of my favorite things about traveling for my job is being able to visit the beaches on all of the coasts. It always amazes me how different the West Coast is from the East Coast. Staying at the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel makes my visits easy. They are located on the Boardwalk, so it’s easy access to all of the great places to visit, such as King Neptune. The rooms are modern and pet friendly, so Miss Molly can stay with me when I go, and I love that the balconies are furnished so we can sit and watch the sunrise over the ocean and relax.
Another favorite hotel of mine to stay at when I am visiting Virginia Beach is the Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach North Beach. The view of the ocean from the room and the balcony is amazing, and the diner-style restaurant located downstairs, which is one of three restaurants located on site, really gives you the beach vacation feeling. This is a great place for the family to visit because there is so much for the kids to do; the hotel has a movie theater and activities for the kids, along with the Splish Splash Lagoon and lazy river.
If you want the amenities of being at home with a resort feel, the Turtle Cay by Diamond Resorts is where you want to stay. The suites have everything you need for a long stay with your family, from living quarters that include a living room, bedroom and kitchenette, to laundry facilities right in your room. There is even a private balcony for you to enjoy beautiful sunsets and sunrises. For family fun, there are two pools on site, and the kids would love to enjoy a visit to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, which are both located very close to the resort.
I have been paid for this blog, but the thoughts and opinions are my own
